Wow! Thanks to all for such a great summer! There were many reports of large perch this year. The walleye and rainbow fishing on Lake Erie was really talked up too. Thanks to all our fishing customers for the constant updates. It helps to let others know what colour spoons are working or what lures are producing out on the Lake.

Now is the time for rainbow fishing in the local rivers! We have lots of spawn on hand as well as worms, mepps, float rods and reels and lots of other stuff you will need for your outings.

There have been a few reports of muskie caught in Lake St. Clair. Although the water has been too stirred up lately, hopefully things will calm down enough to get in some much awaited fishing for the toothy critters! We now have Muskie Train lures at the Dixie as well as a large selection of Muskie Mania, Drifter, Storm, Rapala, Spanky's, CL, Cowgirls, Woodys, and sooooo much more!

Keep the emails coming! Also Remember.....WE HAVE GIFT CERTIFICATES! Don't forget to get one for your favourite fisherman! It is the best way for them to pick out what they really want!

Yesterday was the Fishathon at Deer Creek! Great turnout and very successful day! Approximately $10,600 was raised which is more than double last years total. Huge kudos go out to Ryan Bonin and his family for putting the whole event together! Thanks to all the Dixie customers who sponsored Team Dixie in this event!! Come and see the plaque at the store that was earned with all of your kind donations!!! I'll be asking again next year....so brace yourselves! Cancer CAN BE BEATEN with amazing days like this one!!

Deer Creek Conservation area is having a Derby for kids on August 13th. If you can attend...GREAT! It will be a fantastic day out for the children!

REMINDER!!! Don't forget to give yourselves enough time when buying your deer licences. The paperwork for the draw MUST be in the ministry office in Aylmer by June 30 closing hours. Due to the mail strike, you must give yourself enough time to drive it down there or courier it.

Opening day Bass was yesterday June 25, 2011. How did y'all do? Deer Creek was active. Lots of large mouth, a rainbow and a brown. Everything seemed to be working. The Live Target Crawfish, the power team craws were awesome!!!
